Sheep Inc., the world’s first carbon-negative fashion brand, has launched its latest addition to its sustainable knitwear collection: the Mountain Crewneck. A piece that pays homage to the rugged beauty of the Alps, this stylish new offering combines exceptional craftsmanship with environmental responsibility. The Mountain Crewneck is set to redefine what luxury fashion can be — bold, timeless, and eco-conscious.
Available from February 1st, just ahead of the World Ski Championships in Saalbach, Austria, the new sweater draws inspiration from the Zwölferkogel peak in Hinterglemm, close to Salzburg. This mountain is not only a symbol of alpine beauty, but also holds special significance for Sheep Inc.’s co-founder, Michael Wessely. It was in the surrounding Alps where he first discovered his deep connection to both the slopes and the natural world.
The Mountain Crewneck is available in three earthy tones: Fawn Brown, Cobalt Blue, and Burnt Orange. These hues evoke the colours of the alpine landscape and add a sophisticated yet understated element to any wardrobe. Crafted from 100% traceable ZQ-certified Merino wool, the sweater reflects Sheep Inc.’s commitment to the highest standards of sustainability. Each garment is made in the UK, ensuring both quality and the ethical treatment of workers.

The sweater’s minimalist design is as practical as it is stylish, making it perfect for après-ski moments or everyday wear. The relaxed fit and timeless aesthetic are complemented by Merino wool’s natural breathability, moisture-wicking properties, and warmth, making it an all-season wardrobe staple. Whether worn on the slopes or during casual outings, the Mountain Crewneck offers unrivalled comfort, durability, and performance.
"Growing up near the Austrian Alps, the mountains have always played an important role in my life," said Michael Wessely, co-founder of Sheep Inc. "This collection is a reflection of that connection, and it means so much to me personally. The Zwölferkogel mountain and the surrounding landscape are where I first fell in love with nature, and I wanted to create something that not only captures that beauty but also contributes positively to the environment."
A highlight of Sheep Inc.’s sustainable efforts is the use of carbon-negative raw materials. The Merino wool used in each Mountain Crewneck comes from regenerative farms in New Zealand, where soil health is prioritised, and carbon emissions are reduced. This unique approach to wool sourcing ensures that the brand’s products are not just eco-friendly, but actively restorative for the planet.

Transparency is another key feature of the brand’s ethos. Thanks to Sheep Inc.'s innovative Connected Dot NFC technology, customers can trace the full journey of their garment. By tapping their phone on the label, they gain insight into every step of the process, from the farm where the wool was sourced to the final stitch in the UK.
Since its establishment in 2020, Sheep Inc. has made waves in the fashion world with its commitment to environmental restoration and innovation. Co-founders Edzard van der Wyck and Michael Wessely have dedicated themselves to creating a new kind of luxury fashion, one that not only reduces harm but actively contributes to the well-being of the Earth. The Mountain Crewneck is yet another testament to this vision — blending timeless aesthetics with cutting-edge sustainability for a truly next-generation knitwear collection.
