Sustainable Fashion Week 2025 will take place from 27 September to 5 October, celebrating its fifth anniversary with the theme ‘Fashion, Reclaimed’. The programme spans the UK with international hubs in the United States and Canada, and offers an extensive line-up of workshops, talks, clothes swaps, shows and community-led events designed to inspire people to engage with sustainable fashion and challenge the culture of fast fashion.
Clothing is more than just functional; it plays a vital role in how we express our identities, values and sense of belonging. Yet how garments are produced and consumed has profound consequences for both people and the planet. Sustainable Fashion Week shines a spotlight on these impacts, while offering practical skills and creative alternatives to help individuals rethink their relationship with style.
The 2025 theme encourages people to reclaim fashion by reconnecting with clothing in meaningful ways, whether through visible and invisible repair, embracing the beauty of second-hand, learning new skills, celebrating colour and craft, or choosing to resist unsustainable fashion systems altogether. With hubs offering immersive, large-scale experiences and the Community Fringe hosting smaller but equally empowering activities, the programme is designed to bring knowledge, creativity and collaboration to anyone who wants to be part of positive change.
Now in its fifth year, Sustainable Fashion Week has become a global moment for climate action and ethical fashion, with a strong focus on collective empowerment, slow fashion, circularity and building sustainable wardrobes that last. It is a call to action to rethink how clothing is made, worn and valued, and to take part in reshaping the industry from the ground up.
