For Ruth Spradbery, founder of Reloved By, what started as a lockdown hobby of buying and selling designer handbags quickly became a mission. “I started to wonder; what if people didn’t just buy preloved products, but did so proudly? What if there was a way to boldly signal that people had made a choice to buy sustainable fashion?” she says. That idea evolved into Reloved By, an initiative that encourages people to wear their preloved purchases with pride—complete with a signature charm to show their commitment to sustainability.
Now, Spradbery is taking things further by hosting the Reloved By Luxury & Designer Preloved Fashion Event at The Brompton Venue. “I love networking and meeting people,” she explains. “I gathered a community of like-minded people who had successful businesses buying and selling designer preloved authenticated fashion items from across the UK. We wanted to exhibit together and show that sustainability could be a statement.”
The event is set to be a treasure trove of authenticated designer pieces, with one-of-a-kind jewellery, handbags, shoes, and accessories from brands like Chanel, Hermès, Gucci, and YSL. “We have amazing one-off pieces which will make your eyes water. All have backstories and are designer fashion at affordable prices,” Spradbery enthuses.

Beyond shopping, the event offers an immersive experience. A panel discussion will feature industry experts, including a brand authenticator for Vinted and a prominent Chelsea-based reseller, exploring topics like designer authentication and the best places to find preloved treasures. “Come along and see for yourself,” says Spradbery. “Hear from passionate experts on why preloved purchases are so important to the planet.”
The community element is at the heart of Reloved By. “It’s huge.” Spradbery says. “So many people have played a part in making this event happen, from every Instagram like and story share to the panel who are turning up free of charge in order to donate their time.” Proceeds from retail space bookings will be donated to Women for Women International, supporting female empowerment initiatives.
To add to the atmosphere, live music from the electric string duo Cordelectra will create a high-end shopping experience, alongside styling masterclasses, makeup tutorials, and even a complimentary cream tea. “We want this event to be fun, inclusive, and where people feel part of something bigger than themselves,” Spradbery says.

For those new to preloved fashion, her advice is simple: “You’ll be surprised how addictive this is. Choose to buy and wear a standout designer piece and enjoy the effect it has on you.”
As for the future of Reloved By? “Hopefully, this is the first of many events like this,” she says. “We want to create a sense of community where we stand for something bigger than just a shopping experience. We want this event to be the springboard for something good for people and the planet.”
