Good Man Brand, the menswear and footwear label founded by Super Bowl Champion and entrepreneur Russell Wilson, has announced the launch of its most sustainable sneaker yet—the Halo. This groundbreaking shoe introduces a first-of-its-kind biodegradable sole, developed in collaboration with material science innovator Balena, marking a major leap forward for eco-conscious fashion.
Available in black and white, the Halo blends premium craftsmanship with cutting-edge sustainability. Its upper is crafted from plant-based alternatives to leather, including GrapeSkin® for the black version and a bio-based vegan leather for the white. The real game-changer, however, is Balena’s BioCir® Flex sole—an advanced, fully compostable material designed to match the durability and comfort of traditional rubber while offering a responsible end-of-life solution.

“Sustainability is more than a buzzword—it’s a responsibility,” said Therese Hayes, CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer of Good Man Brand. “The Halo sneaker proves that quality design and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.”
Further reinforcing its commitment to circularity, Good Man Brand is exploring a take-back program to ensure the sneaker remains part of a closed-loop system. More details will be announced in Spring 2025.
By integrating Balena’s BioCir® Flex technology into the Halo, Good Man Brand is setting a new benchmark in sustainable footwear—proving that modern, stylish sneakers can be made with the future of the planet in mind. The Halo sneaker is available exclusively on the Good Man Brand website.
